Sending a File to LAI
General advice when sending a file to LAI
If the file is under 2 megabytes, e-mail it to:
info@laico.com
If it is more convenient for you to send it through the mail, save the file on a 1.44 megabyte floppy disc.
If the file is too big for a disk or to e-mail, then FTP (file transfer protocol) is preferred. Please contact info@laico.com for a secure FTP site and password.
Mechanical Desktop 2000 and AutoCad 2000 file formats need to be converted in Mechanical Desktop and AutoCad into a DXF format for use in CimCad and Surfcam:
- Binary Drawing Exchange *.DXB
- Drawing files *.DWG
- Drawing Interchange File *.DXF
- Initial Graphics Exchange Specification *.IGS
Note: Any drawing with splines will cause difficulty and longer programming times when converting the file for use with CimCad.
CimCad preferred file formats
These formats are imported directly into CimCad:

The formats listed below need to be converted in Corel Draw 8.0 to one of these formats for use in CimCad:

Note:
Conversions from bitmaps will need extra programming time for extra work involved in cleaning up the image, which varies with the sharpness of the bitmap.
